Haven-1

Haven-1 is a planned commercial space station developed by Vast, a space technology company. As a privately owned space station, Haven-1 is designed to accommodate both professional astronauts and space tourists. It is intended to be launched into low Earth orbit (LEO) and serve as a research platform, a manufacturing facility, and a destination for commercial space activities.

Haven-1 is planned to be the first free-flying commercial space station. After its lifespan as a free-flying station, it is intended to be connected to a larger, modular space station developed by Vast. The initial Haven-1 module is projected to support a small crew and offer a pressurized environment for scientific experiments, technology demonstrations, and in-space manufacturing. The station is designed to accommodate various payloads and provide resources for researchers and commercial entities seeking access to the space environment.

Vast intends for Haven-1 to contribute to the development of a larger space economy and to expand human presence in space beyond government-funded programs.
