HSwMS Sjöhästen (Shä)

HSwMS Sjöhästen (Shä) was a Sjöormen-class submarine of the Swedish Navy. The name Sjöhästen translates to "Sea Horse" in English. She was commissioned in 1968 and decommissioned in 1990. As a Sjöormen-class submarine, she was designed for coastal operations and anti-submarine warfare. She was powered by diesel-electric engines and equipped with torpedoes for attack. These submarines were known for their streamlined hull design, which contributed to their underwater speed and maneuverability. "Shä" was a common abbreviation used within the Swedish Navy for this particular vessel. The submarine played a role in Swedish naval defense during the Cold War.
