HMS Mariner (J380)

HMS Mariner (J380) was a reciprocating engine-powered Algerine-class minesweeper of the Royal Navy. She was built by Lobnitz & Company, Renfrew, Scotland, and launched on 11 May 1944.

As an Algerine-class minesweeper, HMS Mariner was designed for clearing mines in coastal and deep-water environments. These ships were known for their seaworthiness and effectiveness in mine clearance operations. They were built in large numbers during World War II to combat the threat posed by naval mines.

Following World War II, HMS Mariner remained in service with the Royal Navy. She was eventually sold for scrap in 1961. Her career exemplified the role of Algerine-class minesweepers in maintaining safe passage for maritime traffic and contributing to naval operations.
