Kulusuk

Kulusuk is a small settlement located on an island of the same name in the Sermersooq municipality of southeastern Greenland. The island itself sits just off the coast of the larger Ammassalik Island.

Kulusuk is notable for being the site of Greenland's easternmost airport, Kulusuk Airport (GGS), which serves as a crucial transportation hub for access to the Ammassalik region and surrounding settlements, including the larger town of Tasiilaq. Due to the challenging terrain and limited road infrastructure in East Greenland, air travel is often the only practical means of transport.

The settlement is home to a small population, primarily Inuit, who maintain a traditional lifestyle centered around hunting, fishing, and tourism. In recent years, tourism has become an increasingly important part of the local economy, with visitors drawn to the area's dramatic landscapes, glaciers, and opportunities for outdoor activities like hiking and kayaking.
