Gullfisk
Gullfisk is the Norwegian word for goldfish. It is a direct translation, combining "gull" (gold) and "fisk" (fish). The term refers to the common goldfish ( Carassius auratus), a freshwater fish in the family Cyprinidae. These fish are popular as pets and are known for their typically golden or orange coloration, although variations exist. The word "gullfisk" is widely used throughout Norway to refer to these domesticated fish.
