Good Times (Shocking Blue album)
Good Times is the fifth studio album by the Dutch rock band Shocking Blue, released in 1974. It was their final studio album before their initial breakup in 1975. The album marked a shift in musical direction for the band, incorporating more funk and soul influences compared to their earlier psychedelic rock sound. Robbie van Leeuwen remained the primary songwriter, though the album also includes contributions from other band members. While not achieving the same international success as some of their previous albums, such as At Home, Good Times features notable tracks that showcase the band's evolving sound. Critical reception at the time was mixed, with some praising the band's willingness to experiment while others felt the departure from their established style was detrimental. Despite its more subdued commercial performance, Good Times remains a significant part of Shocking Blue's discography, demonstrating their versatility and continued artistic exploration during their final years together. Key personnel involved in the album included lead vocalist Mariska Veres, guitarist Robbie van Leeuwen, bassist Cor van Beek, and drummer Pim Evers.
