George Vernon (MP, died 1692)
George Vernon (died 1692) was an English politician who sat in the House of Commons at various times between 1660 and 1690. He was the son of Henry Vernon of Sudbury, Derbyshire.
Vernon was elected Member of Parliament (MP) for Derby in 1660 and sat until 1679. He was re-elected for Derby in 1685 and sat until 1687. He was again elected for Derby in 1689 and sat until his death in 1692.
He married Catherine Vernon. His son, Henry Vernon, also served as an MP. He also had a daughter, Catherine Vernon, who married Sir Thomas Wilford, 1st Baronet.
