Going Bananas (film)
Going Bananas is a 1987 American comedy film directed by Boaz Davidson and starring Dom DeLuise, Jimmie Walker, David Menachem, and Herbert Lom. The plot centers around a New York City cab driver (Walker) who inherits a chimpanzee named Bonzo, and their subsequent misadventures when they travel to Africa to return Bonzo to his natural habitat. The film is known for its slapstick humor and farcical situations. It was released by Cannon Films. Despite featuring recognizable comedic actors, Going Bananas was not a critical or commercial success upon its release.
