Highway 70 (Israel)

Highway 70 is a major east-west highway in northern Israel. It runs from the Kabri Interchange near Nahariya on the Mediterranean coast in the west to the HaAmakim Interchange near Kiryat Tiv'on in the east, traversing the Western Galilee and Jezreel Valley.

The highway serves as a vital transportation artery connecting numerous communities and industrial areas in the region. It facilitates travel and commerce between the coastal cities and the inland valleys. Key towns and cities accessible via Highway 70 include Acre (Akko), Karmiel, and Kiryat Tiv'on.

Highway 70 is a mostly dual carriageway road, though some sections remain single carriageway. Over the years, significant upgrades and improvements have been implemented to improve safety and traffic flow, including widening, adding interchanges, and straightening curves. It intersects with several other major highways, including Highway 4, Highway 6 (the Cross-Israel Highway), and Highway 79. These intersections provide connections to other parts of the country.
