Gary Pierce (footballer)

Gary Pierce is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Fitzroy Football Club and the Brisbane Bears in the Victorian Football League (VFL) and Australian Football League (AFL).

Pierce was recruited to Fitzroy from Preston RSL. He played for Fitzroy from 1986 to 1992. He was known as a versatile player, capable of playing in defense or as a tagger in the midfield. He was part of Fitzroy's finals campaigns in the late 1980s.

Following Fitzroy's financial difficulties, Pierce was traded to the Brisbane Bears for the 1993 season. He played a limited number of games for the Bears before retiring from AFL football.

Following his AFL career, Pierce continued to be involved in football at a local level. His career is remembered for his consistent performance and contribution to Fitzroy during a period of on-field success for the club.
