First Tee

First Tee is a youth development organization that introduces the game of golf and its inherent values to young people. Founded in 1997, the organization aims to positively impact the lives of youth by providing educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values, and promote healthy choices through the game of golf.

The core principles taught through First Tee’s programs are the Nine Core Values: Honesty, Integrity, Sportsmanship, Respect, Confidence, Responsibility, Perseverance, Courtesy, and Judgment. These values are integrated into golf instruction and activities, helping young people develop important life skills on and off the course.

First Tee chapters operate across the United States and in select international locations, offering a range of programs designed for different age groups and skill levels. Participants learn not only the fundamentals of golf but also valuable life skills such as goal-setting, conflict resolution, and decision-making.

Funding for First Tee comes from a variety of sources, including private donations, corporate sponsorships, and fundraising events. The organization relies heavily on volunteer support to deliver its programs and achieve its mission. The ultimate goal of First Tee is to provide opportunities for young people to learn and grow through the game of golf, helping them to become successful and well-rounded individuals.
