George Fisher (actor)
George Fisher (born August 10, 1935, Shamokin, Pennsylvania, died December 19, 2022, Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California) was an American actor primarily known for his work in television. He was best recognized for his role as Detective Carey on the long-running CBS daytime drama Guiding Light, a role he played from 1967 to 1970, and then again from 1971 to 1975.
Fisher began his acting career in stage productions. His transition to television included appearances in various episodic series. Besides Guiding Light, Fisher's television credits included guest roles in shows such as The Doctors, As the World Turns, and other daytime dramas.
He also appeared in some films, though his career remained largely focused on television.
Fisher's portrayal of Detective Carey was a staple of Guiding Light during his tenure, and he contributed significantly to the program's popularity during that period. He left the show in 1975.
