Federico Marchetti (businessman)

Federico Marchetti is an Italian businessman and entrepreneur, best known as the founder of YOOX Group, a global internet retailing partner for leading fashion and design brands.

Marchetti graduated from Bocconi University in Milan and later earned an MBA from Columbia Business School in New York. Prior to founding YOOX, he worked as a consultant for Bain & Company and Lehman Brothers.

In 2000, he founded YOOX, an online retailer offering end-of-season designer clothing and accessories at discounted prices. The company quickly grew and became a significant player in the luxury e-commerce market.

In 2015, YOOX Group merged with Net-a-Porter Group, a leading online retailer of luxury fashion, to form YOOX Net-a-Porter Group (YNAP). Marchetti served as CEO of YNAP until 2020. During his tenure, he oversaw the integration of the two companies and continued expansion into new markets and product categories.

Marchetti is considered a pioneer in luxury e-commerce and has been recognized for his contributions to the fashion and technology industries. He has received numerous awards and accolades, including the Cavaliere del Lavoro (Knight of Labour) from the Italian Republic. After stepping down as CEO of YNAP, Marchetti has remained active in the business world, focusing on investments in technology and innovation. He is also involved in various philanthropic endeavors.
