Contrarian (band)

Contrarian is an American progressive death metal band formed in Baltimore, Maryland, in 2012. The band is known for its technical proficiency, complex song structures, and incorporation of influences from both classic and modern progressive metal and death metal acts.

History:

Contrarian was founded by guitarist Jim Tasikas, who sought to create a band that combined the aggression of death metal with the sophistication of progressive music. He recruited vocalist George " Corpsegrinder" Fisher, bassist Ed Wrede, and drummer Bryce Butler to complete the initial lineup.
