Farsia

Farsia refers to a proposed alternative name for the Persian language. The term is derived directly from "Fars," the Persian name for the province of Pars (also known as Fars province) in southwestern Iran, considered the historical heartland of the Persian language and culture.

The suggestion to use "Farsia" instead of "Persian" is often motivated by a desire for linguistic self-determination, allowing speakers of the language to refer to it by a term originating within the language itself, rather than an exonym derived from the Greek word "Persis," applied to the region by outsiders.
