Fancy (singer)

Fancy, stage name of Manfred Alois Segieth (born July 7, 1946, Munich, Germany), is a German singer, songwriter, and producer, primarily known for his Italo disco hits in the 1980s.

Fancy's musical career began in the 1970s, working under various pseudonyms and writing/producing for other artists. He achieved mainstream success in the mid-1980s with singles such as "Slice Me Nice" (1984), "Chinese Eyes" (1984), "Bolero (Hold Me in Your Arms Again)" (1985), and "Flames of Love" (1988). These songs became popular in Europe and South America.

His music is characterized by its synth-driven melodies, upbeat tempos, and use of vocoders and electronic effects. Fancy's lyrics often dealt with themes of love, desire, and exotic locales.

While his peak popularity was in the 1980s, Fancy has continued to record and perform throughout his career, releasing new albums and touring internationally. He remains a notable figure in the Italo disco genre.
