Epic45
Epic45 is a British post-rock band formed in 1995 in Staffordshire, England. The core members are brothers Ben Holton and Josh Holton. They are known for their atmospheric, melancholic soundscapes characterized by the use of ambient textures, field recordings, and minimalist instrumentation.
Epic45’s music often evokes a sense of rural isolation and nostalgia, drawing inspiration from the English countryside and themes of childhood memories. Their sound has been described as both pastoral and haunting. Early releases featured a more guitar-driven shoegaze sound, but their sound evolved to incorporate more electronic elements and found sounds.
The band has released numerous albums and EPs on various independent labels, including Make Mine Music, WIAIWYA, and Wayside & Woodland. Some of their most well-known albums include "May Your Heart Be the Map" (2007), "In All the Empty Houses" (2005), and "Against the Light" (2011). They are a staple within the post-rock genre and have garnered a dedicated following due to their evocative and emotional music.
