Egoism (band)
Egoism was an Australian indie rock band formed in Sydney in 2013. The band consisted of Scout Eastment (vocals, guitar), Ruby Maher (lead guitar), Michael Moraitis (bass) and Luke Grbin (drums). They were known for their energetic live performances and blend of surf rock, punk, and garage rock influences.
Egoism released several EPs and singles throughout their career. Some notable releases include their EPs Egoism (2015) and It's Rattling Around (2017), and the singles "What Are You Waiting For" and "Here's Looking At You." Their music often explored themes of youth, relationships, and disillusionment.
The band toured extensively throughout Australia, playing at various festivals and venues. They garnered a dedicated following within the Australian indie music scene.
Egoism announced their breakup in 2020. Since disbanding, members have pursued other musical projects. While relatively short-lived, Egoism left a lasting impact on the Australian indie music landscape and are remembered for their distinctive sound and dynamic performances.
