Egilbert (bishop of Passau)

Egilbert was Bishop of Passau in the 11th century. He held the position from 1045 until his death in 1065. Egilbert's episcopate was marked by efforts to consolidate the power and possessions of the Bishopric of Passau. He also played a role in the political affairs of the Holy Roman Empire during his tenure, though details are often sparse in surviving documentation. His successor was Altmann of Passau.
