Edward Barry (Irish nationalist politician)
Edward Barry (1852 – 23 December 1927) was an Irish nationalist politician and Member of Parliament (MP) in the House of Commons of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland.
Barry was born in Kilroe, County Cork. He was a member of the Irish Parliamentary Party, representing South Cork from 1892 to 1910. He was generally associated with the more conservative wing of the party. He was a supporter of the United Irish League and was actively involved in local government in County Cork.
During his time in Parliament, Barry advocated for Home Rule for Ireland and championed the interests of his constituents, particularly in relation to land reform and agricultural issues. He retired from politics in 1910 and died in December 1927. He is buried in Liscleary Cemetery, County Cork.
