Domvile baronets (1815 creation)
The Domvile Baronetcy, of Templeogue in the County of Dublin, was a title in the Baronetage of the United Kingdom. It was created on 27 December 1815 for Compton Domvile, who had previously represented Dublin City in the Irish House of Commons.
The Domvile family were historically prominent landowners in County Dublin. Compton Domvile was the great-grandson of Sir Thomas Domvile, who had been granted lands in Templeogue in the 17th century.
The second Baronet, Sir Charles Compton William Domvile, also served as High Sheriff of Dublin City. He died without legitimate male issue, and the baronetcy became extinct upon his death in 1884. The Domvile estates passed to his niece, Lady Blake.
The family seat was Santry House, Dublin. The family archives offer a valuable insight into landed gentry and politics of the time.
