Dolohmwar
Dolohmwar is the name of a rock island located within Temwen Island, part of Pohnpei State in the Federated States of Micronesia. It is notable primarily for its association with Nan Madol, an ancient city of basalt structures built on artificial islets on the reef flat off Temwen Island's southeast coast. Dolohmwar is one of the islands that supplied the basalt columns used in the construction of Nan Madol. Archaeological evidence suggests quarrying activity took place on Dolohmwar for this purpose. The island's name appears in legends and oral histories surrounding the origins and construction of Nan Madol. While not directly part of the Nan Madol complex itself, Dolohmwar is integral to understanding the city's resource base and the logistics involved in its creation. The island is also ecologically significant, contributing to the biodiversity of the surrounding marine environment.
