Vidoll
Vidoll was a Japanese visual kei rock band, active from 2002 to 2011. Known for their elaborate costumes, heavy makeup, and theatrically-influenced performances, Vidoll was a prominent figure in the second wave of visual kei, a subgenre of Japanese rock characterized by its emphasis on aesthetics and androgyny.
The band's sound evolved over time, initially incorporating elements of heavy metal and industrial rock, later incorporating more melodic and pop-influenced elements. Lyrical themes often explored dark subjects, including societal criticism, personal struggles, and love.
Vidoll's final lineup consisted of Jui (vocals), Shun (guitar), Hide (guitar), Rame (bass), and Tero (drums). The band released several albums, singles, and DVDs throughout their career, achieving significant popularity both in Japan and internationally among fans of visual kei music. Their disbandment was announced in 2010, with their final performance taking place in May 2011. Since their disbandment, former members have pursued various solo projects and collaborations within the Japanese music scene.
