Dja River

The Dja River is a major river in southeastern Cameroon. It forms a natural border for much of its course, particularly along the northern and eastern edges of the Dja Faunal Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The river ultimately drains into the Congo River basin via the Sangha River. The Dja River is known for its biodiversity, and the Dja Faunal Reserve protects a significant portion of the rainforest ecosystem and its inhabitants within the river's catchment area. Human activities, including logging and agriculture, pose ongoing threats to the river's health and the surrounding environment. Navigation on the river is limited due to rapids and falls.
