Denis Allen (diplomat)
Denis Allen (born 1930) is a retired British diplomat. He served as Her Majesty's Ambassador to Switzerland from 1985 to 1988, and subsequently as Ambassador to Austria from 1988 to 1991. Prior to these postings, he held various positions within the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, including periods of service in Moscow and elsewhere. His career spanned a significant period of the Cold War and its aftermath, during which he played a role in representing British interests abroad. Following his retirement from the diplomatic service, Allen has remained active in public life, including involvement in charitable organizations and other endeavors.
