Ford Falcon (EF)

The Ford Falcon (EF) is a mid-size car produced by Ford Australia from 1994 to 1996. It was the first iteration of the sixth generation of the Falcon, replacing the ED series. The EF Falcon represented a significant restyle compared to its predecessor, with a more rounded and aerodynamic exterior designed to appeal to a broader market.

The EF Falcon was available in sedan, wagon, and utility (ute) body styles. Trim levels included GLi, Futura, XR6, XR8, and Fairmont (and Fairmont Ghia). The GLi was the base model, offering standard features, while the Futura provided a step up in terms of equipment and styling. The XR6 and XR8 were the performance-oriented models, offering sportier aesthetics and enhanced engines. The Fairmont and Fairmont Ghia were the luxury models, featuring more refined interiors and additional comfort features.

Engine options for the EF Falcon included a 4.0-litre inline six-cylinder engine and a 5.0-litre V8 engine. The inline six was the standard engine, while the V8 was available in the XR8 and as an option in some other models. Transmissions included a five-speed manual and a four-speed automatic.

The EF Falcon introduced several improvements over the ED Falcon, including enhancements to the suspension and handling. It was generally well-received for its improved styling, comfortable ride, and reliable engines. The EF series was succeeded by the Ford Falcon (EL) in 1996.
