David Gaunson (footballer)
David Gaunson (born 16 October 1958) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for Fitzroy in the Victorian Football League (VFL) during the 1980s.
Gaunson, a half-forward flanker, was recruited to Fitzroy from Preston YCW. He played 91 VFL games for the club between 1981 and 1986, kicking 122 goals. His best season was in 1983, when he kicked 44 goals and finished seventh in the club's Best and Fairest award. He also represented Victoria in State of Origin football that year.
Gaunson left Fitzroy at the end of the 1986 season and joined Brunswick in the Victorian Football Association (VFA).
