Pachikha

Pachikha is a village development committee (VDC) located in the Solukhumbu District in the Sagarmatha Zone of north-eastern Nepal. As of the 1991 Nepal census, it had a population of 2,448 individuals living in 447 households. The primary occupation of the residents is agriculture, supplemented by animal husbandry and seasonal tourism activities related to trekking to Mount Everest. The area is primarily inhabited by Sherpa people. The topography is rugged, typical of the Himalayan region, with varied altitudes influencing local climate and vegetation. Access to modern amenities like roads and electricity remains limited in many parts of Pachikha. The village is governed by an elected local council. The dominant religion is Buddhism, reflected in the presence of monasteries and religious practices.
