Darnétal

Darnétal is a commune in the Seine-Maritime department in the Normandy region of northern France. It lies a few kilometers east of Rouen, forming part of the Rouen metropolitan area.

Historically, Darnétal was known for its textile industry, particularly wool and cotton spinning and weaving. The town's prosperity was significantly linked to the development of this industry during the 19th century. The River Robec, which runs through Darnétal, provided power for the mills.

Today, while some light industry remains, Darnétal is largely a residential suburb of Rouen. It features a blend of older industrial architecture and modern housing.
