Daimús
Daimús is a municipality in the comarca of Safor, province of Valencia, Valencian Community, Spain. It is a coastal town located on the Mediterranean Sea, situated approximately 70 kilometers south of Valencia city.
Daimús is known primarily for its beach, Playa de Daimús, which is a popular tourist destination during the summer months. The town has a relatively small permanent population, but this increases significantly during the tourist season.
The economy of Daimús is largely based on tourism and related services, such as hospitality, restaurants, and shops catering to visitors. Agriculture, particularly citrus fruit cultivation, also plays a role in the local economy.
Historically, the area has been inhabited since Roman times, although the modern town of Daimús developed later. The name "Daimús" is believed to be of Arabic origin, reflecting the region's Moorish past. The town's patron saint is Saint Bartholomew (San Bartolomé).
