Daemon (album)
Daemon is the debut studio album by the Norwegian black metal band Mayhem. It was released on October 25, 2019, through Century Media Records. This album marks the first Mayhem release to feature Teloch as the primary songwriter and the first full-length album to feature Attila Csihar on vocals since Chimera (2004), although he also contributed to Ordo Ad Chao (2007).
Daemon seeks to return to Mayhem's more raw and primal sound, eschewing some of the more experimental elements of their previous albums. The album's lyrical themes delve into darkness, death, and the occult, consistent with the band's established themes.
The album received generally positive reviews, with critics praising its dark atmosphere and return to form. Some critics noted that while Daemon recaptures some of the earlier Mayhem spirit, it also maintains a modern production quality.
