Critic's Choice (film)

Critic's Choice is a 1963 American comedy film directed by Don Weis and starring Bob Hope, Lucille Ball, and Marilyn Maxwell. The film is based on the 1960 play of the same name by Ira Levin.

The plot revolves around Parker Ballantine (Bob Hope), a literary critic who finds himself in a precarious situation when his wife, Angela Ballantine (Lucille Ball), decides to write her own play. Parker, known for his sharp and often harsh reviews, now must critique his wife’s work. Complications arise as Angela’s play proves to be quite unconventional and, in Parker’s honest opinion, terrible. He struggles with whether to give an honest review and risk damaging his marriage or to lie and compromise his professional integrity.
