Colin Matthews (cricketer)

Colin Matthews (born 16 June 1961) is a former Zimbabwean cricketer who played in two Test matches and twenty-eight One Day Internationals (ODIs) between 1983 and 1987. A right-handed batsman and occasional right-arm medium pace bowler, Matthews was part of Zimbabwe's inaugural Test team in 1992, playing against India in Harare. He did not take a wicket or score significant runs in either innings. His ODI career was more extensive, participating in Zimbabwe's early World Cup campaigns. He was a consistent, if not spectacular, performer in the middle order for Zimbabwe during a formative period for the nation's cricket. Since retiring from professional cricket, Matthews has maintained a connection to the sport in Zimbabwe.
