Coblentz (lunar crater)

Coblentz is a lunar impact crater that lies on the far side of the Moon. It is located to the southwest of the larger crater Wiener, and to the northeast of Straub.

This is a relatively eroded crater, with a worn outer rim that is overlaid in places by small impacts. The most notable of these is a small craterlet along the northern rim. The inner walls are somewhat irregular, with some slumping around the periphery. The interior floor is relatively level, with a few tiny craterlets marking the surface.

The crater is named after William Coblentz, an American physicist and astronomer.
