Clinton station (CTA Green and Pink Lines)
Clinton station is a rapid transit station on the Chicago Transit Authority's (CTA) Green Line and Pink Line. It is located in the Near West Side neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois, at 309 N. Clinton Street. The station is situated within the Fulton River District and serves the nearby residential and commercial areas.
Clinton station opened on June 6, 1893, as part of the Lake Street Elevated Railroad. Originally, the Lake Street Elevated only operated east of Clinton, connecting to downtown Chicago. The line was extended west of Clinton in 1896. The station has undergone several renovations throughout its history, including improvements to accessibility.
The station has two side platforms serving two tracks. Trains operate in both directions, providing service towards downtown Chicago (eastbound) and towards the west and southwest suburbs (westbound). Passengers can transfer between the Green Line and Pink Line at this station, as both lines share tracks along this portion of the route.
Clinton station offers connections to several CTA bus routes. It is also located within walking distance of other transportation options, including Metra commuter rail stations and Divvy bike share stations.
