Roger Jackling (diplomat)

Roger Jackling (born 1944) is a retired British diplomat. He served in various capacities within the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) throughout his career, focusing primarily on security and intelligence matters.

Jackling's career included postings to locations such as Washington D.C. He held senior positions within the FCO, including Director General for Defence and Intelligence from 2001 to 2004. In this role, he was responsible for coordinating the UK's foreign policy on defence and security issues, as well as overseeing intelligence gathering and assessment.

Following his retirement from the FCO, Jackling served as a non-executive director for a number of companies, providing expertise in areas such as risk management and international security. He has also been involved in advisory roles for government and private sector organizations.
