City Hall station (Seoul)
City Hall station is a subway station in Jung-gu, Seoul, South Korea. It is served by Seoul Subway Line 1 and Seoul Subway Line 2. The station is located directly underneath Seoul City Hall and Seoul Plaza.
Overview
City Hall station is a major transfer point for commuters traveling across Seoul and into the surrounding Gyeonggi Province. Line 1 runs north-south, connecting the city center with areas to the north and south. Line 2 is a circular line, providing access to many of Seoul's commercial and residential districts. The station features multiple exits leading to various points of interest, including government buildings, shopping areas, hotels, and tourist attractions.
History
The station first opened as part of Seoul Subway Line 1 in 1974. The Line 2 platform was added in 1984. Since its opening, the station has undergone renovations and improvements to accommodate increased passenger traffic and improve accessibility.

City Hall station features separate platforms for each line. Passengers can transfer between Line 1 and Line 2 via underground passageways and escalators. The station is equipped with amenities such as restrooms, ticket vending machines, and information kiosks. Screen doors are installed on the platforms for passenger safety.
