Christopher Turnor (judge)

Christopher Turnor (c. 1607 – 4 March 1675) was an English lawyer and judge. He served as a Baron of the Exchequer and later as a Justice of the King's Bench.

Turnor was the son of John Turnor of Stoke Rochford, Lincolnshire. He was called to the bar at the Middle Temple in 1629. He became a Serjeant-at-Law in 1660 and was shortly after appointed a Baron of the Exchequer.

In 1663, he was transferred to the King’s Bench. He presided over several notable trials, including some involving Quakers and other religious dissenters during the Restoration period. His judicial conduct was generally considered fair, though he often upheld the laws relating to religious conformity. He was knighted in 1660.

Turnor sat as Member of Parliament for Grantham in the Convention Parliament of 1660.

He died on 4 March 1675 and was buried at Stoke Rochford.
