Christian Richter (painter)

Christian Richter (born 1983) is a German contemporary painter known for his hyperrealistic paintings of stacked and seemingly precariously balanced found objects, often salvaged wood or construction debris. Richter's works explore themes of memory, entropy, and the passage of time.

Richter meticulously recreates these arrangements in oil paint on canvas, often at a large scale, capturing the textures, colors, and imperfections of the discarded materials with astonishing detail. His paintings often depict the objects as though frozen in a moment of precarious equilibrium, hinting at an underlying fragility and the ephemeral nature of existence.
