Chris Beard (singer)
Chris Beard (born August 29, 1958, in Chicago, Illinois, died March 2, 2015, in Indianapolis, Indiana) was an American blues guitarist, singer, and songwriter. Primarily known for his modern electric blues style, he was a prominent figure in the blues scene from the early 1990s until his death.
Beard began playing guitar at a young age, heavily influenced by his father, Joe Beard, a well-respected blues guitarist himself. He developed a distinctive guitar sound characterized by powerful bends, soulful phrasing, and a driving rhythm. His vocal style complemented his guitar playing, delivering raw and emotive performances.
Beard released several albums throughout his career, including "Bar Walking" (1998), "What I Found Out" (2000), "The Devil Blues" (2003), and "Live Wire" (2005). These albums showcased his original songwriting, as well as his interpretations of classic blues standards. He toured extensively, performing at blues festivals and clubs across the United States and internationally.
