Charlie's Angels (2019 film)
Charlie's Angels is a 2019 American action comedy film directed by Elizabeth Banks, who also wrote the screenplay. It is the third installment in the Charlie's Angels film series, serving as a continuation of the television series of the same name and the two previous films, Charlie's Angels (2000) and Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle (2003).
The film stars Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott, and Ella Balinska as the new generation of Angels working for the Townsend Agency. Patrick Stewart, Djimon Hounsou, and Elizabeth Banks portray different Bosleys, the handler for the Angels.
The plot follows the Angels as they investigate a dangerous technology that could be weaponized and used to threaten the world.
Released theatrically in the United States on November 15, 2019, by Sony Pictures Releasing, Charlie's Angels received mixed reviews from critics and was a box office disappointment. Criticisms were directed at the film's perceived lack of originality and its inability to recapture the spirit of previous iterations. Praise was given to the performances of the lead actresses, particularly Kristen Stewart.
