Richard Jackson (cricketer)
Richard Jackson (born 29 April 1963 in Derby, England) is a former English cricketer who played first-class cricket for Derbyshire between 1982 and 1988. He was a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-fast bowler.
Jackson made his debut for Derbyshire in August 1982 against Surrey, scoring 10 runs in his only innings and not bowling. He played sporadically over the next few seasons. His most productive season was in 1986, when he played 16 first-class matches and scored 400 runs, including a highest score of 68 against Oxford University. He also took 16 wickets that season.
Overall, Jackson played 47 first-class matches for Derbyshire, scoring 886 runs at an average of 14.06 and taking 34 wickets at an average of 48.47. He also played a number of List A matches. After leaving Derbyshire, he played Minor Counties cricket for Staffordshire.
