Carzano

Carzano is a hamlet (frazione) of the municipality of Monte Isola in the province of Brescia, Lombardy, Italy. It is located on Monte Isola, the largest lake island in Italy's Lake Iseo. Carzano is situated on the eastern shore of the island.

Historically a small fishing village, Carzano is now primarily known as a tourist destination. Its main attraction is its picturesque setting on the lake and its proximity to other villages on Monte Isola, which are connected by walking paths. It is accessible by ferry from Sulzano and Sale Marasino, both towns on the mainland.

During the 2016 art installation "The Floating Piers" by Christo and Jeanne-Claude, Carzano was a significant point of access and a focal point of the artwork, as the piers connected Sulzano to Carzano and then extended to Peschiera Maraglio. This event significantly increased Carzano's visibility and tourism.

The local dialect spoken in Carzano, like in the rest of Monte Isola, is a variant of Lombard.
