Carlton Cinema (TV channel)
Carlton Cinema was a British television channel that operated from 1998 to 2000. It was owned and operated by Carlton Communications, one of the ITV franchise holders at the time. The channel primarily broadcast classic films from the Rank Organisation film library, which Carlton had acquired. Its programming was generally targeted towards a broad audience with an interest in vintage cinema. Carlton Cinema ceased broadcasting when Carlton merged its film channels into a joint venture with British Sky Broadcasting (BSkyB), leading to its replacement by Sky Cinema channels. The channel's output is now considered largely defunct.
