Brian Thompson (footballer, born 1950)

Brian Thompson (born 11 February 1950) is a former English professional footballer who played as a full-back.

Thompson began his career at Burnley, making his debut in the Football League in 1968. He went on to become a regular in the Burnley side, playing in the First Division and later in the Second Division.

In 1976, Thompson moved to York City. He spent several seasons with York, playing consistently in the lower divisions of the Football League.

After leaving York City, Thompson played for Rochdale before retiring from professional football.

Thompson made over 300 appearances in the Football League throughout his career.
