Brian Price (rowing)
Brian Price (born February 19, 1976, in Belleville, Ontario) is a Canadian rower, best known as the coxswain of the Canadian men's eight team that won a gold medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.
Price began his rowing career at the University of Western Ontario, where he coxed their crews. His dedication and skill led him to the national team program. He served as coxswain for various Canadian crews, including the men's eight and the men's four.
Besides his Olympic gold medal, Price has achieved notable success at the World Rowing Championships. He earned a gold medal in the men's eight at the 2007 World Rowing Championships in Munich, Germany. He also earned a bronze medal in the same event at the 2003 World Rowing Championships in Milan, Italy.
Price's role as a coxswain is crucial; he is responsible for steering the boat, coordinating the rowers' efforts, and executing race strategy. His leadership and tactical acumen are highly valued within the team.
