Brian Davison (drummer)

Brian Davison (1942 – 2008) was an English drummer, best known as a founding member of the progressive rock band The Nice.

Davison was born in Leicester, England. He started his musical career playing jazz before transitioning to rock music. In 1967, he joined keyboardist Keith Emerson, bassist Lee Jackson, and guitarist Davy O'List to form The Nice. The band became known for their innovative blend of classical music, jazz, and rock, and Davison's drumming was a crucial element of their sound. He provided complex and powerful rhythms, often incorporating jazz and classical influences.

After The Nice disbanded in 1970, Davison formed the band Every Which Way with guitarist Graham Bell. They released one album in 1970. He also released a solo album, Every Which Way, in 1970.

Davison also worked as a session musician, and occasionally reunited with members of The Nice for various projects. His distinctive drumming style left a lasting impact on progressive rock music.

He died in 2008 at the age of 65 from a brain tumour.
