Brexiella

Brexiella is a genus of bacteria belonging to the family Cardiobacteriaceae. These Gram-negative bacteria are typically rod-shaped and non-motile. They are oxidase and catalase positive. Brexiella species are commonly isolated from the human respiratory tract and may be associated with certain infections, though their pathogenic role is still under investigation. The genus Brexiella was formerly considered part of the Cardiobacterium genus. Identification of Brexiella species often requires specialized biochemical testing or molecular methods due to their similarities with other bacteria found in the same environment.
