Bobby Mitchell (golfer)
Bobby Mitchell (born April 5, 1943) is an American professional golfer who played on the PGA Tour and the Senior PGA Tour (now Champions Tour).
Mitchell was born in Columbus, Ohio. He turned professional in 1967.
On the PGA Tour, Mitchell won three tournaments: the 1971 Cleveland Open, the 1972 Glen Campbell-Los Angeles Open, and the 1972 Kemper Open. He had several other top-10 finishes and played consistently well throughout the 1970s.
After turning 50, Mitchell joined the Senior PGA Tour, where he had a successful career. He won two events: the 1993 Brickyard Crossing Championship and the 1994 PaineWebber Invitational. He also had numerous top-10 finishes and was a consistent presence on the tour throughout the 1990s.
Mitchell is known for his solid ball-striking and consistent play. While not a long hitter, he was known for his accuracy and ability to manage his game effectively.
