Billy Hunter (baseball)

Billy Hunter (born November 25, 1928) is a former Major League Baseball infielder. He played for the Philadelphia Athletics (1953-1954), Baltimore Orioles (1954-1957), Cleveland Indians (1958-1959), Chicago Cubs (1959), Cincinnati Reds (1960) and Milwaukee Braves (1960-1961). Primarily a shortstop, Hunter also played second base and third base during his career.

Hunter was signed by the Philadelphia Athletics as an amateur free agent in 1949. He made his major league debut on September 12, 1953. His best season was arguably 1955 with the Baltimore Orioles, where he played in 153 games and batted .271 with 10 home runs and 59 RBIs.

Following his playing career, Hunter was a minor league manager and a scout.
